My gf and I do a lot of cooking and previously only had a Wusthof 3” pairing knife, which was a bit short for many things. This knife is perfect for cutting onions, peppers, etc., mincing garlic, and even slicing up chicken. The shape of the blade and the position of the handle makes it great for rock chopping. It’s super sharp right out of the box. I definitely recommend this knife. We now have several types of knives, but this one has quickly become our go-to.
I've had this knife for a couple of years now and I use this knife more than all of my others combined. Decided to buy the three ladies in my life (sister, niece and daughter-in-law) one for Christmas. Very pleased with the seller and shipping.
The 5” utility knife is the perfect size, for pretty much any food prep purpose that a single person might have. The shape is similar to a chef’s knife, but size is similar to a large paring knife. It’s my new favorite!
I have teen girls and they are always looking for a knife in the kitchen. They aren’t allowed to use my hand forged San Mai Japanese knives, we had 1 of these classic Wusthof knives so I bought 2 more because this became a go to knife for the girls. It’s plenty sharp and more importantly it sharpens well, we use a whetstone. It has a good feel in the hand with the right balance and weight. The quality is excellent and my ‘family’ knives are now Wusthof knives. Clearly I’d buy this again, if I didn’t have 3 already.

Looks pretty modest at first look, but wow is this knife great. My life of cooking before this was a lie. This makes prep so so much easier.
The Wusthof Classic 4.5 Asian Utility Knife is a beautiful and functional cutting instrument. This clever fusion knife is made with thin, strong, sharp steel, comfortable handle and is well balanced. Great for cutting vegetables, fruits, and even more difficult tasks as separating fat and skin when roasting meat. Exercise caution as I could probably shave with this knife and it will bite if not handled correctly. Another classic from one of the world’s best knife makers.
This knife is so easy to use. I have used it every day several times as it has become my go to knife. Perfect size and works for slicing as well as dicing. Keeps an edge (I have yet to need to sharpen) as do all Wusthof knives. Would make a great gift!
This is a great little workhorse knife. It’s perfect for smaller tasks like cutting up smaller fruit/vegetables or mincing garlic. The slightly taller blade profile means I can pinch grip it to slice up mushrooms or pistol grip it to get more leverage to cut up some cheese. I have some expensive, but fragile, razor sharp Japanese knives. But sometimes I just want to grab a knife that doesn’t need to be babied. These thin German knives are sharp enough, without being scary sharp, and I don’t have to worry about washing them right away after use or chipping the blade if I’m not really careful. It’s not the cheapest knife but the blade profile is worth paying a bit more for.
I expect nothing but the best from Wostof knives. This is a great size and very sharp.
