I have recently taken up bread making, and this slices through like butter. This is the best knife brand on the market. Well worth the price.
This is the second time I have purchased a Trident bread knife. First one lasted about 20 years. (That knife was so sharp that I accidentally took a bit of a fingertip off with it while slicing a frozen bagel in half. Didn't feel it until after I saw the blood!) Recommendation? The design of the edge of the knife is extremely sharp but it cannot be easily sharpened back to original condition. So, figure the knife is a consumable and will have to be retired to other duty when it dulls. Save a few dollars by buying the less expensive version that does not have the bolster. The bolster looks nice but doesn't affect the function of the knife.
This knife is awesome. It cut through fresh sourdough so nicely and smoothly. I was able to cut even slices of bread for the first time in I don’t know how long. I was very impressed. Hopefully it stays like this for a while and doesn’t dull too quickly. It also has a nice weight to it. Not heavy at all but still feels like you’re holding something in your hand.
This is a great knife. What is unusual and confuses some folks is that it is a one sided blade like a Japanese knife. If the bread has a hard crust the flat side of the blade will slide down the bread relatively straight while the right side pushes the cutoff to the right. If the bread is soft the knife will compress the bread on the flat side and the split will push in both directions cutting a clockwise curve. So you have to apply a slight twist to the left to counter this on softer breads.
I liked the name and the quality of the knife. If you want top shelf items then buy the best! JC🌵
Love thus brand of knives. Bought several for Christmas gifts
So sturdy and sharp. Makes cutting a breeze
As it is nearly impossible to sharpen properly a serrated bread knife I finally replaced my old one (27 yrs). With a new one. It’s a reliable and excellent knife.
I am a big fan of Wusthof knifes. You get what you pay for. Amazing quality, amazing cuts.LOVE.
Added to my collection of Wustof knives. Razor sharp and well balanced.
