    I am so glad that I own one of these knives. The sharpness is excellent with clean cut on meat. The size is right for me too as a senior. I can't use big knife to cut meats. I can use cutting the vegetable and meat using with this one knife. Great buy!

    For the home chef, this is probably the best deal you can get for a vegetable and boneless meat slicer. It’s not intended for heavy chopping, trimming your doorframe or hacking through brush. But it will slice the thinnest vegetable and meat slices imaginable. It is precisely ground and tempered, holds its edge reasonably well and is easily sharpened. It responds well to both strop and honing steel. My hat is off to this company for providing such a useful and practical tool ,of this quality ,for such a more than reasonable price. I honestly don’t know how they do it.They do require some sanding of the sharp edges where the blade meets the handle. You could cut your finger. But that is easily accomplished with a piece of sandpaper wrapped around a stick in about two minutes. Still the best deal out there. If this wasn’t necessary, I would give it five stars in every category. At this price, buy two. You’ll want to give one to someone you love. I have one and just bought two more.

    I got this knife because it was curved, one piece, lovely design, small but weighty, German made, and advertised that it was "ultra sharp." When I opened the box, I loved the design, feel in the hand, but when I tested the sharpness of the blade with my finger, I thought, "What the hey?? This thing is dull. " I ran my finger along the blade and it didn't cut or slice my finger -- not even a little. I was disgruntled and going to send it back, but I thought I would at least try cutting some veggies for stir fry. It chopped through those critters like buttah. Tried it with chicken -- the same. Glad I did. It is wonderful to work with -- just great size, balance, and looks loverly. I gave it 5 stars. I hope it maintains the edge. The only possible knit pickin' thing was the really small, clear blade tip protectors. They are very hard for me to see the openings and to put on. (at 73 years old my dexterity and eye sight sux, I must admit.) I wish they had made one long blade protector -- I really do. I'm leaving it in it's box (which is a pain - it takes up too much room in my drawer) to protect between uses. I know I'm going to loose those little suckers if I don't. But the knife itself is just a joy for me to use. Any suggestions on better way to protect it in a drawer would be welcome.

    After I washed it I was slicing hard salami, carrots and radishes as thin as paper. I love it. I saw a review from someone who said that the knife got dull after he used it twelve times. He might want to try sharpening it. My brothers were pro butchers and they would sharpen their knives every time they used them.

    Not a bad set. Very nice looking. A few of the steak knives arrived damaged. Looks like paint or glue from the block that dried onto the knives. And a few knicks here and there on the back of them. The scissors had a defect; a little extra metal that wasn’t shaved down. I was able to fix that with the sharpening tool that came with the set. The other knives were in good condition and sharp. I’ll keep them.
