My regular 8" Wust chef's knife was starting to agitate my old wrist tendons. This new model is LIGHT, sharp as hell, and is perfectly weighted from tang to tip. I LOVE IT. Great quality, as you would expect from the W.
Beautiful just to look at, but using it is the best. Sharp and easy to cut through even the toughest of vegetables. Excellent balance and use. I highly recommend it
This is a great knife for fruit and vegetable preparation, especially large onions and apples. The hallow ground knife helps keep vegetables from sticking. The 4" version of this nakiri knife is also amazing.
Have wanted this Classic knife for several years but felt silly getting ANOTHER knife! Waivered between it and a Chinese cleaver ( read that Chinese cooks often use their cleaver as their only knife except for meat work but it's too big for me). Finally decided to do it- when you go in a local store and pick up the knife regularly, comparing it to other Wusthofs and brands, it's wasting too much time! It is a wonderful perfectly weighted knife for me, and it chops those veggies amazingly and it's flat blade is safer than a Santuko knife (whose rounded edge rocks too much for me on veggies). Sharp? You bet! Be careful! Do not put it in the dishwasher and sharpen it carefully and regularly as directed. My partner and I fight over this knife when we are both cooking! 😍
Use the Nakiri for what it is meant for and you will have no complaints. Works really well and is easy on the hands. Works better than my Chef's knife for cutting veggies. You can cut see through thin with this knife easily.
Watch out! Tuck your finger in. Learn, practice or you'll cut yourself as I did. Use it strictly as a veggie knife
I can think of nothing negative about this knife. I use it daily for everything from slicing poultry to dicing herbs. It fits in the hand comfortably and is extremely sharp. I think it would be a perfect gift as I can’t imagine anyone would not love it!
It's so balanced, has a great weight, and shaaaaaaaarp! Great buy.
I have a pretty good Wusthof knife collection but was looking for something close to a clever but light weight for vegi prep. This is not for chopping at bones but if you want to super thin slice vegi's or easily cut thin slices of meat, This is it. It feels like you are using a giant razor blade to cut with, In a good way. After sing the for a couple of weeks, I think some of my other knives are feeling neglected as it has become a favorite go to knife fr prep work.
Great knife! I have a lot of knives. This one is rapidly becoming my favorite for vegetable and fruit slicing/chopping. The form of the blade, larger at the top because it’s more rectangular, makes chopping easier. And Wusthof blades are super sharp, and Wusthof knives are well balanced.
