    The three most important kitchen knives are a good chopping knife, bread knife, and paring knife. This is one of the best paring knife on the market and therefore will always be one of my three most used knives.It is very sturdy (as far as kitchen knives go - don't try prying lids open or other such nonsense with it) and will last a life time if you take care of it. It's size is perfect for a paring nice and all the untitle jobs it does in the kitchen. It's ergonomically design makes it easy to work with for long periods of time without fatigue.

    I've had paring knifes from the cheap to the expensive. This just fits perfectly in my hand. Even if I'm holding the blade to cut the root out of carrots etc. Super sharp, and easy to sharpen. Gifted the all the other paring knives. Getting another one. Perfect design IMO. Some things are just worth it.

    My wife did not like these knives at first, because they are very sharp but after a while using them she will not use anything else. These are expensive, but taken care of will last a long time. These are beyond the quality you can buy in most stores. I highly recommend these knives.

  • Like the old husband I am, I stupidly used my wife's previous paring knife to try and open an oyster. In my defense it was New Years Eve and I might not have been thinking as well as I normally do. Any way this is a very nice upgrade that should get us through several more decades.PS I bought a better oyster shucking blade as well. LOL.

    Somehow, our original paring knife disappeared. Weird. Anyway, hubby just had to have what was closest to our original set's handle look, and the classic fit the bill. It is much heftier than then original and incredibly sharp. It cuts through things like they are butter! For a tiny knife, it is very expensive, but hubby would have no substitutes. I am sure it will last our lifetime (if it doesn't walk off again).

    This is my second wusthof paring knife. It is pricey by comparison, but I loved the first one so much that I took the plunge and bought a replacement when mine was misplaced while we had family visitors helping in the kitchen... I looked everywhere, in every drawer, etc., to no avail. Of course, two weeks after I bought this one, I found it, upside down, in my counter crock with the cooking stainless spoon and spatulas. Alas.... Now I have two great paring knives.
