OK blade with a machete handle. The blade is a fair approximation of a true Chinese vegetable cleaver; for my taste the cutting edge has a little too much curve from heel to toe. The handle is a farce. It is almost two inches too long and is completely the wrong shape. Search Amazon for hatchets and machetes and you will see this handle shape and size. It is also found on some framing hammers used for rough carpentry and has no place on a Chinese style cleaver. I guess Wusthof could not take the time to examine a true Chinese cleaver (such as made by Shibazi) and replicate the handle shape/size with modern, hi tech materials. I am disappointed and would not buy another one. My fault for not examining photos of the handle more closely.
