We love Wustoff knives. There is quality here. Worth the price. This one is my husbands favorite!
Wusthof knives are a game changer for me. This is the third knife, 1 chef knife and now 2 paring knives. So razor sharp yet lightweight and comfortable to use. Don’t mind chopping anymore. Highly recommend!
Expensive, but worth it for an everyday knife. Finding that we are using this for everything and haven't found an instant that it didn't work in. Very sharp (as attested but micro cuts on my fingers - lol). Like it so much I got another one - woot!!
I have a full set of Henckles kitchen knives, the Professional S series. They are wonderful knives with forged blades, full tangs, and the 3-rivet classic design. They are designed for a lifetime of service with proper care and sharpening. However, I needed a particular knife that was not in that series: a 4.5- to 5-inch utility-style knife for everyday food prep purposes. I found this 4.5 inch one in the Wusthof Gourmet series for a good price and decided to try it. (I already have a 3-inch spear-point paring knife from this same series and found it quite nice to use). While it is a stamped rather than forged blade, I found that to be a good thing. The blade is thinner from top to bottom, with a thinner handle, so the knife overall is comparatively lighter and more flexible, providing the ability to make very precise cuts. IMHO it is the ideal size for slicing and dicing fruits and vegetables or prepping small cuts of meat or fish prior to cooking. The blade is actually 4.75 inches, so it's a perfect “just-right” compromise between a 3- to 4-inch paring knife and a 6-inch utility knife. It also has a sufficient bolster to protect your fingers. And for just $40, less than half the price of the exact same knife with a forged blade in the Wusthof Classic line for $95, I think it is a tremendous value for a knife produced by such a legendary brand. Highly recommended.
I love Wustoff and this is a great addiiton to my collection. Super sharp and washes well.
Light weight. Sharp. A little smaller than I expected. Go at least 4 1/2 inch. Preferably 5 inch for an all around utility knife.
Very outstanding knife.
It will slice and dice anything you put in front of it! This is the perfect size for a utility knife and the serrations makes it easy to cut anything and everything from bread to tomatoes! If your looking for that all in one kitchen knife this is it. Highly recommended!
I like this knife as a utility option for projects where my serrated bread knife are too big. This is perfect for softer fruits like cherry tomatoes, berries, grapes. I am glad I bought it. I might have preferred a 4" over a 5" but the 4" price was almost double
I bought the same size knive that’s made by Chicago Cultery. It was horrible. Wouldn’t cut melted butter. This one is so much better. Holds a sharp edge. Highly recommend even though it costs more. It works like a knife should.
