This knife is a great value. It is sharp, solid, and lightweight and it is nicely balanced and comfortable in hand. In my experience, this paring knife is comparable in quality and functionality to the other knives in the Wusthof line and a fantastic addition to one's essential kitchen tools.
Wusthof is pricey, and it's a very good knife. We also have a Chicago Cutlery paring knife, and it is likewise a very good knife. The Wusthof was is part of a Wusthof set, and for this reason I chose a Wusthof to replace the Wusthof I had lost. But I can't say I've seen any difference between the two brands ,even though the Chicago Cutlery knife is 25% of the cost. I have no regrets on my purchase because my set is now complete, but as I said at the beginning of this review - it's pricy.
This paring knife is a good blend of sharpness, lightness, and price. Works well in slicing with its sharpness. Does not wear out your hand if using it for a long period. While it is nice to have a heavier blade carry the work of chopping or dicing, a light sharp blade will do the same thing.
Lightweight, sharp, easy to use. Wusthoff quality.
This lightweight paring knife is incredibly sharp and easy to use. This is now my "go to" knife.
I love this little knife! I previously had an inexpensive Wusthof paring knife (probably from their cheapest line as it only cost $9 at a home goods store I picked it up at) but it was fantastic and lasted forever! I accidentally threw it out and hence was in the market for a new one. This fit the bill perfectly! Some reviewers were complaining that it was too lightweight, but this is exactly what I was looking for! Great knife, works good and is affordable.
This is my first "real" paring knife. Before this I settled for what came in the block with the rest of a s***ty Chefmate set from Target. Block knives are not a bad deal if you're just starting out in the world of kitchen cutlery, and a chef's knife and/or bread knife out of one of those will do for some time. I really missed a good paring knife like Mom always had in the drawer, though, and this one is great.Super sharp, super light, very easy to manipulate. I have I guess medium-size hands and I live that I can do very fine peeling with this. Handle and blade meet very nicely. It was razor sharp out of the box and very pointy! I'll get many good years of use from it. Can't beat the price either.I admit I went for the cheapest paring knife I could find that was still decent quality. But I couldn't be happier.
I first became hooked on these when they were under the Emeril name. Then had the hardest time finding them until I realized they took the Emeril name off. I adore these paring knives! I replaced all of my paring knives for the most part with these! There is some flex to the blade, which I like because there are a lot of things I do with a paring knife that I prefer the blade to hug a little closer to the item being cut. These are always sharp, and so long as you take proper care of them, no doubt most will love them too. These are not professional grade, but are an excellent mid-grade quality paring knife!
Love all your products; bought the knives as a wedding gift.Purchased the expensive set for my condo and another set for my daughter when she got married. Love this brand!
Works great!
