Cons: Costly knife that doesn't live up to its price. The blade is thinner than expected, too lightweight & the knife doesn't have a hefty, solid feel to it which makes it trickier to maneuver & feels flimsy, unlike their comparable kitchen chef's knife in the same model line.Pros: Seems the blade is made of quality steel (no rust) and retains its sharpness well like most Wusthof knives I own. Constructed well enough.I wouldn't purchase it again at this price but it's adequate for home use but would not recommend it for commercial use.

OMG, this is one sharp knife. Balance is nice. Works as a flat slicer and a gentle chopper. I got it for my wife, who is tiny with small hands and has trouble using the bigger knives. We have a collection of Henkel Pro S knives, and I was going to get the one they make, but this one was half the price, looks very similar, and is said to be sharper out of the box and is made with harder steel. It's a perfect tool for slicing vegetables or smaller foods. It's not a cleaver or a boning knife or a pie slicer. Sure it's dishwasher safe, but putting a sharp knife in with the cutlery is asking to chip the heck out of the edge. Hand wash with care. Use a white nylon cutting board or a wood one, and stay away from the honing steel until you learn just how low the angle is on the blade edge. I'm hoping that the factory edge will last years with care.

I love Wusthof knives and have been wanting to try a Nakiri knife. Great knife for veg prep! Well made & sharp, of course. The price for the 5" model is very attractive and that's what I got. It works great and I am in no way disappointed but all-in-all I wish that I'd spent the bucks for the 7" one. However, the excellent price for the 5" one is really hard to pass up for Wusthof steel. Decisions, decisions, decisions.......

    Nice addition to knife set.

This knife makes cutting tomatoes and other veggies a breeze! You do need to wash it after use, dry, and put it away. That's the only downside to the knife itself but it feels great in your hand, lightweight but high quality.

Love these knifes! The quality and maneuverability of these knives will delight the chef in your family. I purchased the magnetic wall mount to store them for my special chef as well. His Birthday, Fathers day, or Christmas I bought a knife and this excellent investment paid off. Best knifes ever!

Wonderful, light to handle quality knife. I love how sharp it is and how easily it cuts through raw vegetables. I have a special sharpener that sharpens knives with divits like this one. The 5" inch size is perfect. No need to have anything longer. I love using sharp, high quality knives and would highly recommend this one.

This is a great little knife for breaking down veggies.I bought this as a Christmas gift(stocking stuffer) for someone who didn't have any decent mid-sized knives. Being unfamiliar with anything but Western style knives, the person was a little surprised but immediately put it to use prepping veggies for dinner. After the first pass through some raw broccoli I heard "Woah!" from the kitchen followed by the sounds of chop, chop, chop on the cutting board. About 5 minutes later, they came out of the kitchen with the knife and told me, "This is my favorite knife!" before going back in the kitchen and going through a bunch of carrots, beans, potatoes, and all of the other prep work for dinner that night. I've received multiple texts from them over the last week that they've used it for all kinds of dishes. For a relatively reasonable price, this has changed someone from not liking cooking to actually enjoying being in the kitchen. This is exactly what I was hoping would happen.Five stars. Would recommend.

It’s nice looks Baruch HaShem, comfortable and sharp.

But I worked for 30 years ago. She had a knife that cut like nobody's business, but she paid a fortune for it and I never felt compelled to drop that kind of money on a knife. Over those 30 years I probably spend triple what she paid for that awesome knife, trying to find cheap ones that would do the same. I failed every time.Decided to invest just a little bit more that I had been, read lots of reviews, and took a blind gamble with this one.I couldn't be happier. And I won't be wasting money on knives or cleavers any more.
