    Handle is far too slick and the blade is rather flimsy.. good for home use only. This was my first impression after receiving a knife with a slight bend and a not so sharp blade.. but then Dalstrong stepped in and made it right! Let me start by saying that I am somewhat picky and very detail oriented.. After sharing my concerns with the customer service team, they were very prompt in making sure I was happy. Thy sent me another knife (no charge) to make up for it. The knife I received arrived in perfect condition and razor sharp. The handle took me a minute to get used to after using a different brand of knives for so long. However, if ya keep your cutting hand clean there shouldn't be any issues. The craftsmanship is extremely good and the packaging the knives come in immediately shows how much they care about what they're doing. Dalstrong customer service is the best I've ever experienced. They go above and beyond to assist and assure that the customer is satisfied. Even after they sent me a replacement knife, they still reached out to me again a couple weeks later to make sure i was happy with the product. I highly recommend Dalstrong knives.. I've only used the gladiator series, but if this is any indication of what to expect from the other offerings they have, I'm sure I'd be very pleased with any product coming from them. And knowing how strong the customer service department is and their concern for the customers satisfaction.. just makes it a no-brainerHighly recommended

    I'm a self taught cook and believe I can make better food than most restaurants. When I realized how important knives were I started investing in Shun. Had spent over $1000 on several of their knives and thought I took pretty good care of them although at times I could have washed them immediately vs couple hours later. But anyways they rusted and chipped. I was horrified that these expensive knives did that and did not want to invest anymore money into them. I then saw a demo at costco for cutco. Ive always heard about them and was impressed. Cutco does have good knives and easy to take care of but still are a little expensive and not as attractive. The Dalstrong knife I got makes a BIG statement when Im cutting a brisket/turkey/steaks at dinner. Its impressive and fun. I was very impressed with their packaging as well. Sold so far and looking on purchasing couple more of their Knives. Great value for the money.

    This blade is a butcher's best friend! Lightweight and easy to maintain... Just doesn't get much better than that. I use this style blade most out of any in my arsenal and this one is the best I've ever used (12+ years in the buisness). The photos don't let you know just how light this blade is, and the balance is amazing. When you are standing over a cutting table for 10 hours a day that makes all the difference right there. I would go into everything I've used this blade on, but that would take way too long. This is my workhorse and let me tell you it performs amazingly well and holds a crazy edge. Haven't had to sharpen it yet but I'm sure that it will be a breeze too. Thanks folks at Dalstrong for another beautifully crafted tool for this hard working butcher!

    This is my first real kitchen knife. All of my other crap knives were $20 and came in a wooden block. The only problem is the sheaf is very loose. In fact it is so loose that while showing to my wife it slipped out of the sheaf (I was holding it by the sheaf) and gave me a nice, thankfully little, point jab cut on my other arm. So, yes, it is very sharp. If you've only ever owned crappy kitchen knives like I have you need to treat this knife with a lot more respect than anything you have handled before. You drop this and you might lose a toe or Fido might have a real bad day. So it's sharp, weighty, nicely designed, very sturdy, very nice packaging if it's a gift but don't trust the sheaf to hold it tightly. Just be careful and respect it. Don't find out like I did.

    I'm not a professional chef, but you really don't need to be one to recognize quality cutlery and, if you cook regularly, it's worth having a good set of knives. I first started with the Dalstrong Gladiator series several years ago when I upgraded from one of those $99 department store set to one of the Dalstron Gladiator 8-piece block sets. I was incredibly impressed with the quality and ergonomics and have since added two of the four piece knife sets, a fillet knife, a boning knife, and this breaking knife. I'm not sure I'll need any other knives in the future but, if I do, I'll be looking at another Dalstrong Gladiator!

    This is probably the best knife I have owned. The price point is amazing. It keeps its sharp edge again and again. You'll need to hone it and sharpen it like all knives. So if you're not good at taking care of your blades. I probably wouldn't buy this. As maintenance is required to keep it working like new.It has a nice shaped blade for carving meat, and slicing roasts into thin slices. Whenever I take it out, people are impressed. I would recommend this to anyone who likes a tool that is a pleasure to use.

    Handle is extremely slippery when working with meats. My hand slipped off more than once and it is not the handle that was pictured when i ordered the knife.Blade is amazing and cuts as expected.Been working in kitchens over 30 years and bothering my meats as long.I trust my self with the knife but would NEVER let somebody new to a kitchen or butchering touch it knowing they would end up cutting themselves.
