    I have several of these Wusthof knives, and they are all excellent. I wish they were less expensive, but they are all a joy to use. In this situation, however, I guess the phrase “you get what you pay for” applies.Would I purchase it again? Yes!

    I don't know if it gets better than this, but I really can't imagine how it could. It makes cutting through even the really tough uneven crusts on homemade sourdough a breeze. You can go as thin as you want and the bread looks like it's been cut by a laser. Really can't say enough good things about this knife.

    This was a great purchase for $150.00. I don't think I've ever cut a piece of bread or a tomato with a $150.00 knife before. :) It's a really nice tool. It's well balanced, cuts like butter, is comfortable to hold, etc... I had a serrated knife before but this double serrated knife is a bit nicer. It cuts with a bit less effort and leaves hardly any crumbs. Very nice to work with!

    Granted, this is an expensive knife. And I added another $50 to get is shipped to NZ (shipping and GST) , and I'd do it again if I had to.I already had 3 bread knives of suspect origin. But with the covid lockdown, I upped my game and got back into homemade bread. Getting useable sandwich slices was an issue. With a bamboo guide that I got on Amazon, I am able to turn out lovely sandwiches. My husband is impressed because I like to add a lot of nuts and seeds to my breads, and this knife literally cuts them in half when slicing. The knife doesn't drag on or depress the crusts.Love Wusthof Classic Ikon line. Worth the extra money.

    I bought Wusthof classic ikon to have the best made German steel available. This bread knife is a big disappointment. I have had the knife 6 days and have only cut 3 loafs of bread. However, I noticed today that the concave portions of many of the serrations on my knife show rolled edges or burs. You can readily seen the rolled edges on the flat side of the knife and feel the rolls and rough burs with your finger nail, so these are not subtle or minor. I don’t know if these defects were always present or if the steel is improperly hardened and deformed by crusty bread. I have a 20 year old cheapo bread knife from OXO that has no such issues. I don’t get it. This is a $170 knife from one of the best knife makers in the world. I seriously hope this is an abnormality and that my warranty gets me a replacement knife that has a properly refined and durable edge and not a knife that has a worse edge than a dollar store knife.
